Cheat Sheet for the Superbowl

patsThe Super Bowl is one of the most heavily watched American events, with over 160,000,000 total people tuning in for last year’s matchup. Many of those viewers were rabid fans who could spout stats and football trivia like a Jeopardy contestant, but many others were just there for the snacks and commercials. Are you part of that last category and feeling left out? Don’t worry, this year we’re going to solve your Super Bowl blues and help you become a fan with a plan:  A Superbowl Cheat Sheet!

Super Bowl 2017 will feature the New England Patriots vs. the Atlanta Falcons. The majority of the storylines revolve around the New England Patriots, the bad boys of the NFL. Here are the highlights of what you should remember:

  • refereeSuperstar Patriots QB Tom Brady was suspended 4 games in 2016 for playing a part in a controversial NFL scandal that featured deflated footballs during a playoff game. Since he returned from suspension he has dominated the league, throwing 28 TDs vs. just 2 interceptions
  • Tom Brady has won 4 Super Bowls in his career, one shy of the all-time record. If he wins then he will most likely go down as the best QB to ever play the game
  • New England is favored by 3 points against the Falcons, meaning that the vast majority of people believe that they will come out victorious
  • The Falcons’ best player goes by the name Julio Jones, but the WR’s legal name is actually Quintorris Lopez Jones (this is a fun fact guaranteed to impress)
